Description
This heavily cast and superbly detailed (note the revolver, rowels, and spent shell casings on the ground) lost wax bronze casting from the 1970's measures just 6" tall and is signed on the base Philip Kraczkowski; the bottom is hand-stamped 74. Philip Kraczkowski (1916-1996) was a 20th century sculptor and designer best remembered in some circles as the creator of the original 1963 GI Joe doll prototype. His later career was devoted to depictions of the Old West which were cast in limited editions in pewter and bronze. His bronze figures were always in smaller editions and harder to come by these days. This sculpture is Titled "Hired Gun" on the base and depicts a rough-looking guy in cowboy garb holding a 6-shooter. The figure is in nice condition with no bends or losses and retains the original rich, brown patina. It is VERY dusty from display and needs gentle cleaning.WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO SHIP WORLDWIDE IF ALLOWED BY USPS. Please contact for international shipping cost quote.
