Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Bird Signed Herbert Plank GOLDFINCH Folk Art

Description

This listing is for a hand carved folk art wooden bird. I believe the species is a goldfinch. It is stamped on the bottom with the name/address of the artist Herbert Plank.
It also has a knife shaped logo with 'National Woodcarvers Association' on the handle. I'm unsure of the exact age of this vintage carving. I found another example of Herbert Plank's work on Google images (hand) dated 1972. I also found an old Herbert Plank advertisement in the publication 'American Birds' dated June 1974. Based on that information, and judging by the other items I acquired at the same sale, I suspect that this piece likely dates to the early 1970's.
With the base included this item measures approx. 4 5/8" tall and is approx. 4 3/8" in length. It is in fine condition with no signs of damage and very little wear. The colors are still strong.
