Description
Here we have yet another Civil War period group created by John Rogers. "Returned Volunteer: How The Fort Was Taken" was Patented May 17, 1864. A young soldier is using some of the blacksmith's tools to explain how he and his comrades took the fort. The little girl seems to be as interested as her father. This was one of the most popular of John Rogers works, although there are few originals still in existence. The piece measures 19" tall, and is very heavy, which is reflected in the shipping cost. It can be picked up for no charge in New London, CT. Please see all photos regarding the condition.
