A Very special piece showing a period of his career where he
was working in Bronze and acrylic paint medium with a
Whimsical and humorous
touch.
This piece is solid bronze and weighs over 6 pounds !!
A very heavy and solid piece....
A hot-cast (metal) bronze sculpture will be quite heavy, while a cold-cast (resin) sculpture will feel fairly light weight. For example, a small hot-cast bronze sculpture (about 12" tall) might weigh 6-10 pounds, while the same sculpture cold-cast will weigh only a couple of pounds.
This piece weighs over 6 pounds !!
This is a beautiful work depicting an elderly woman perhaps with dementia.

Up for auction is a wonderful RARE piece of Americana
by one of the least appreciated artists of this century,
KENNY VARES
.
KENNY VARES was a man whose varied interests ranged from oils to sculpture.
He worked in various mediums and was friends to everyone from
the bay & Hollywood areas & eras.
He even gifted Bette Davis with multiple pieces of his artwork which
have since been auctioned at Bonhams Auctions for well over two grand.
To those who knew and met him he was the most interesting and colorful man
whose life led him into the hearts and homes of the most influential artists and stars
of the mid century.  He is known for starting the Art Collectives in San Francisco
as well as being one of the young beatniks who began the counter culture
of "Swinging" in the Bay area even before the 60s culture of free love was
a thing with the Hippy generation thought of Free Love !!!
His art styles ranged from true Americana cowboys & bulls to the wildly
Avant-garde to the extremely sexual and erotic.
His themes were everything between "normal" & "truly bizarre".
He loved to transcend the bounds of normalcy & accepted body types in
a lot of his works.  He and his best friend lived in the Bay area until their passing's.
They would often be seen scouring the areas homes trash for metals which he would
melt down for his art pieces.  He was known in his early years for his patriotism and
was always a man who loved his country & the military.  His early years (WW2 & Korea)
he spent much of his time drawing a cartoon strip for the Military troop magazines
called "MS. WOLF" !!  She was a busty beautiful woman who brought smiles
and laughs to our nations young troops even while they were mired in the
worst battles & hellholes of war imaginable.  To this end Kenny should be, and will be one day,
recognized as one of the nations premier cartoonists & artists.
Today you have the extremely unique opportunity to bid on one of Kenny Vares
more subtle & rare works which I was blessed to have been gifted for my collection
from a dear friend who passed away from cancer a few years ago and who was the daughter of
Kenny Vares best friend & housemate for the last 30 years
of their lives.
This piece is not one of Kenny Vares more sexual pieces (and definitely in his erotic area).
He worked in many mediums.
However he often would combine his LOVE for the erotic and bizarre
together in imaginative & erotic landscapes which could only
have been born within the colorful & open mind of Kenny Vares.
To realize who he was is to understand that the greatest names in art & film
of our century were his closest friends and regular party people.  I do not need
to drop names since anyone who was anyone or knows anyone will
know exactly who his friends were !!  In fact in several of his pieces
which I am blessed to own it is so obvious that his art actually inspired
some of the most valuable pieces ever sold from the 60s !!!
He  often gifted his pieces both large and small to the famous !!
It is in these auctions where they first came to light.
Since his passing however these rare gems began to show up for sell
Many are now are selling often in the hundreds to thousands of dollars.
And as anyone in the art world knows this IS the way it goes !!

We aspire to provide our buyers with great service and will always ship within 3 business days from the date of the processed PayPal payment !!!
Not from the date of the sale !!!
However if the sale ends on a Friday we will ship the following Monday as we are over 20 miles from a post office that provides weekend service.
If the following Monday (or Tuesday) are holidays we cannot control that and will ship the first date we can.
This is a rare situation and we try very hard to ship by the 3

day “AFTER” payment is received via PayPal.

Our basic policy is that which eBay already offers for a fraudulent listing of an item not sent as described. However we also understand that due to the economy and due to some personal emergencies people simply have emergencies beyond their control and we sympathize with these situations. So under these circumstances we offer the buyer the opportunity to contact us immediately before we send the item (preferably) and explain why you need to cancel the purchase.
1) only if item is not as described in our auction. And as our clear scans show! Our auctions are for used/vintage or antique items and our scans and descriptions define any defects in the item and we happily will answer questions or supply more photos prior to bidding!!

Buyer must use the same S/H/IC and packaging as it was sent and item must be in the same condition.
3)
Any damage due to shipping is covered however buyer must utilize the provided coverage plan (please do not just ship item back and expect us to issue a refund).   MUST open obvious damaged packages in front of USPS employee to receive their coverage !!
4)
Damaged items/packages must be opened within your local USPS office in front of USPS employee, as resending it to us voids out the coverage and as sellers we lose the item (as well as the sale).
That is why we try to encourage buyers (as we have learnt from experience) to open an obviously damaged box in front of a USPS employee for immediate verification of any potential damages that may have occurred due to improper handling of your purchase.
5) We truly package well to limit any breakage, but extenuating situations, such as damages due to shipping.
S/H/IC (we will cover the extra cost out of our sales price to make sure the item is fully covered)!!! PLEASE remember that the 3 day shipping guarantee is from the time and date of your PayPal payment and not from the Date of the sale!!!!! We cannot guarantee a shipping date “until...” the full payment has been processed!!!
