Your piece will be approximately 2" long.  However, this varies.  If you would like a slightly larger piece for whatever reason let me know
Chert is the general name for several types of stone that are extremely hard and fracture into pieces with sharp edges.  Flint is chert that happens to be grey.  The chert you will get could be grey, or it could be of some other color (white, yellow, or reddish)
